Hikers find body of woman on Vashon Island beach

Hikers walking on a Vashon Island beach shortly after noon Monday discovered the body of an elderly woman, the King County Sheriff’s Office reported. “It looks like she washed ashore,” Sgt. Cyndi West said Monday. “Obviously, it’s suspicious anytime someone winds up dead on a beach, but we don’t know how she got there.”
